Dr. Jibran Hussain is currently serving as Associate Professor (Tenured) and Chairman of the Department of Poultry Production at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore. With over sixteen years of experience in teaching and collaborative research within Pakistan’s poultry industry, Dr. Hussain has established himself as a leading academic and researcher in the field. He earned his Ph.D. in Poultry Production and further advanced his expertise through a postdoctoral fellowship in Advanced Biostatistics at Jackson State University, Mississippi, USA. To strengthen his pedagogical skills, he also completed a one-year Post Graduate Certificate in Veterinary Education from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, UK. Dr. Hussain’s scholarly contributions are extensive, comprising more than 100 impact factor research papers addressing various facets of poultry production. Notably, his review article, “An Overview of Poultry Industry in Pakistan,” published in the World’s Poultry Science Journal, has garnered over 45,000 reads worldwide, reflecting its global impact. He has authored two books in collaboration with the Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA), titled “Poultry Myths and Realities” and “Nutritional Facts About Poultry and Role in Human Nutrition.” Additionally, his upcoming book, “Essentials of Broiler Breeder and Hatchery Management,” is in the publication process. Dr. Hussain’s research excellence has been recognized both nationally and internationally. The Pakistan Poultry Association named him Best Researcher and Presenter for 2019. In 2020, he received the Young Scientist Award from the French Branch of the World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA), followed by the prestigious Gold Medal from WPSA Pakistan Branch in 2023. That same year, he was honored by the Governor of Punjab/Chancellor with the award for Best Researcher at UVAS Lahore. Furthermore, in September 2023, PPA presented him with a certificate of excellence and a laptop for his outstanding role in organizing the Interactive Session at the International Poultry Expo (IPEX-2023). Throughout his academic career, Dr. Hussain has shared his research on global platforms in Pakistan, UAE, KSA, France, Thailand, and the USA. As an HEC Approved Supervisor, he has guided over 30 Ph.D. and M.Phil. students, with a primary research focus on developing strategies to enhance fertility, hatchability, and chick quality in broiler breeders and quails. Through his dedicated work in research, teaching, and industry collaboration, Dr. Jibran Hussain continues to make significant contributions to advancing poultry science in Pakistan and beyond.
